Dofteana is located in the mountainous area in the west of Bacău County, at the foot of the Nemira Mountains, on the banks of the Dofteana River, until its confluence with the Trotuș River.
Originally the hearth of the state was built on the lower valley of Doftenii, the testimony is made by the old church which is today a cemetery. Over time, as a result of population growth, the commune of Dofteana stretched above the water and its main tributaries Seaca and Doftenita, giving birth to the respective villages.
Dofteana is one of the oldest Moldovan settlements, existing even before the formation of the medieval state of Moldova. The first documentary attestation of Dofteana locality is dated September 8, 1436.
Located on Valea Trotușului, about 7 km from Green Property, the Ghika from Dofteana mansion is part of the Ghika family-owned buildings. The Dofteana mansion had from the beginning a well-defined role as a hunting castle and was built at the end of the 19th century. The domain was famous at that time for the real games of hunting and trophy harvesting, the fauna being ensured by the proximity of Mount Nemira and the water of Trotuş.
The castle has 4 levels (basement, ground floor, first floor and attic). The basement is built of stone blocks, and the walls of the two floors are made of brick. The exterior walls are covered with ceramic tiles, with the appearance of a red brick that gives the castle an air of elegance and places it on the list of sights to visit in the Uzului Valley.
Located 1 km from Green Property, the park is a dendrological scientific collection composed of over 660 species and varieties of trees with an area of 24 ha.
It is the achievement of one of the greatest foresters, Iuliu Moldovan. He brought forest seeds from America, Asia and Europe and did research for years on about 3,000 species of trees and shrubs. Many of the species have acclimatized very well and form the basis of many forests in the area.
The species of decorative shrubs are integrated in the tree landscape, which, during the period of leafing and flowering, give life and grace to the park. Starting with the yellow of the golden bells (Forsiţia), with the rosettes of different shades of Japanese quince, with the purple cups of Magnolia X. Soulangeana and the red-violets of Magnolia liliflora, an atmosphere of elegance and fragrance is created that enhances the beauty of the spring landscape. not missed on vacation in the Valley Uzului.
From a socio-cultural point of view, the Dofteana Dendrological Park is a wonderful place for relaxation and excursions.
The “Nemira” nature reserve is known for its tranquility, picturesque landscapes or mountain trails. It measures an area of over 3,400 hectares, extending mostly over the territory of Bacău County, and a small part is located in Covasna County. The maximum altitude is held by Nemira Mare Peak, with 1,649 meters.
It is a suitable place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city, for hiking, for a picnic or simply for admiring the natural and wild beauties of Nemira. Once here, you can admire nature in all its splendor, or enjoy mountain hiking and relaxing fishing trips at the Uz Valley Dam.
In Dofteana there is also a natural barometer, or the meteorologist’s eye (it looks like a huge eye), in fact, a niche in a salt wall attracts moisture from the environment. This natural barometer announces the weather: when the humidity in the air increases, a spot of water appears on the rock and the inhabitants of the area are sure that it will rain as soon as possible on the Uz valley.
The mineral springs at Ciunget (7 km from Green Property) and Sărărie, known for their therapeutic properties and used in the treatment of many diseases. The chemical characterization shows that the water is alkaline, poorly chlorinated, carbonated and hypotonic.
Sport fishing lovers can relax at the Lake of the Uzului Valley. It was populated with rainbow trout and native trout.

The city has developed due to the numerous springs of mineral water with various compositions, thus acquiring the status of a spa resort. The resort is famous for its healing springs. The qualities of these waters have been confirmed by the numerous international medals obtained over the years. It is called the “Pearl of Moldova” and is 25 km from Green Property.
The reputation of Slanic Moldova resort is given by over 20 springs that are captured and used for healing purposes. The fact that they spring on a relatively small area, sometimes right next to each other, and yet different in terms of healing effects, is a peculiarity rarely found around the world.
The Uz Valley Dam is 11 km from Green Property. The history of the dam, however, dates from 1965-1973 when its construction was carried out. The Valea Uzului dam measures 84 meters high and 507 meters long. The first dam with buttresses in Romania and the second in Europe of this kind.
In addition to hydropower, this place is also an oasis of relaxation especially for tourists passionate about hiking, mountaineering, mountain biking, camping, paragliding. Fishermen say that the Uzului Valley is the ideal place for a long fishing trip.
Being part of the Nemira nature reserve, Valea Uzului is considered to be one of the most beautiful tourist attractions in Bacău County. Uzului Valley is part of the wild mountain beauty of the country.
The current church is a massive cross-shaped building, made of brick and stone. The nave has wide apses and is lit, like the spacious altar, with stained glass windows.
On the nave there is a tower, polygonal lit by four windows. Painted icons appear under the cornice of the dome. The closed porch and the narthex are lit by windows facing south and north. The entrance to the porch, like the one in the narthex, is made through carved oak doors. The floor was made of marble, and the roof of the church has a very wide eaves, in Moldovan style.
The hermitage is 11 km from Green Property and has attracted many visitors in the past to the Uz Valley, including: Gheorghe Asachi, Constantin Negruzzi, Gheorghe Sion, etc.
In the depths of the earth, 11 km from Green Property, there is the “Trotuş” salt mine in Tg. Ocna, which also houses an Orthodox church built and arranged since 1992.
St. Varvara’s Church remains today one of the few churches in our country built in salt mines, and the only one in Europe, made almost entirely of salt and located at a depth of over 200 meters.
The salt objects were worked by the miners, being treated with a special varnish, in order not to attract moisture and to ensure resistance over time.
Just 11 km from Green Property we have the only saltwater pool in the area, where tourists can combine treatment with relaxation. The accommodation features: indoor swimming pool, separate toilet, shower, changing rooms, first aid kit, shop with terrace, and complimentary wireless Internet access.
The salt water that reaches the basin is obtained from the mine by infiltrating surface water. One liter of water contains between 250 and 285 grams of salt, values that are measured every day and displayed at the base entrance.
